Summary of the Educational Project Objectives
- At College Notre Dame de Louaize, the learner is provided with
- An engaged and active Eastern Christian mariamite education
- Global Christian objectives: to develop faith, hope, charity, and biblical values
- Mariamite Christian objectives: to help students to be open to God’s vision and to participate in it with joy, confidence, humility, and piety
- Specific objectives to the Eastern Christian: to acquire awareness, wisdom, flexibility, and openness to others, as well as hope, courage, trust, service, sacrifice, forgiveness, and active engagement
- An identity of a citizen aware of his/her history, reality, rights, and duties
- Having awareness of rights, duties, and active engagement with society, the nation, and the environment
- Being aware of the spirit of democracy, justice, peace, responsible freedom, and faith in the interconnection of cultures and civilizations
- Showing a genuine feeling of citizenship and belonging to an ancient civilization without fanatism, isolation, or unjustified pride
- Accepting others, even when they are different
- An education aimed at developing a balanced individual psychologically, pedagogically, culturally, academically, morally, and physically
- On the psychological level, education aims at providing self-awareness, self-control, self-reconciliation, self-confidence, and will power, in addition to emotional and relational balance as well as adaptability
- On the intellectual, cultural, and academic level, education aims at offering intellectual curiosity, love of truth, and a passion for knowledge and culture, in addition to critical thinking and self-criticism as well as logical thinking, clarity, precision, and objectivity, also taking into consideration autonomy in learning, personal responsibility, selflessness, perseverance, artistic appreciation, and creativity
- On the moral level, education aims at equipping the learner with respect for oneself and others, integrity, justice, duty, responsibility, discipline, and sincerity, in addition to loyalty, generosity, willingness to serve, and conscious solidarity, as well as respect for the religion of others
- On the physical level, education fosters activity, vitality, knowledge, and balance in lifestyle, in addition to elegance, taste, health, and cleanliness.
